Chi Chapter

The Chi Chapter of Boston University (X)

Undergraduate Advisor: Brother Jonathan Thompson

On February 15, 1924, the Mighty Chi Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. was charted by the Significant Six on the campus of Boston University. Being a city-wide chapter, the Chi Chapter has members from all over the Boston Area.

Chi Chapter Brothers play an active role in the Boston community. Chi Chapter works closely with the Paul Robeson Institute for Positive Self-Development (PRI) to tutor Boston’s high school students each week in areas of mathematics, science, English, and social studies. Recently we have taken up more community service initiatives such as 826 Boston & the East Boston Soup Kitchen.

Outside of community service, the Chi Chapter continues to lead the city socially.

Lambda Xi Chapter

Lambda Xi

The Lambda Xi Chapter of Brown University (ΛΞ)

Undergraduate Advisor: Brother William Whitehead

The Lambda Xi Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Incorporated was established on March 12th, 1983 at Brown University. Seven men were instrumental in bringing Kappa Alpha Psi to the state of Rhode Island. Having brought Kappa Alpha Psi to the campus of Brown University, these seven men sought to acquire a charter and increase membership. Branching off of its founding campus in the Spring of 1982, Brother Joseph Barros became the first initiate of the Lambda Xi Chapter that was from Johnson & Wales University. In the Spring of 2014 the Lambda Xi Chapter branched out again to Bryant University with Brothers Dale Codrington, Devante Heath, and Dujuan Heath hailing as the first initiates from the institution.

Since then, Lambda Xi has proven that Kappa Alpha Psi is the premier fraternity in Rhode Island by performing captivating step performances, impacting the community through tireless service efforts, maintaining leadership roles on-and-off campus, and receiving multiple accolades including Fraternity of the Year for 2011 and 2012.

Today the Lambda Xi Chapter encompasses Brown University, Johnson & Wales University, the University of Rhode Island, Rhode Island College, and Bryant University with our vision as a testimony:

“To foster a positive fraternal environment; to achieve and continue growth within the local community and on campus, while continuing to serve as an invaluable asset to the State of Rhode Island through active participation.”
